1st John 2:27. “But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.” THE ANOINTING. The Holy Spirit has worked through men to declare God’s holy will. We have been given spiritual light when our minds we choose to fill. With truth revealed by God the Spirit – we have been anointed – And follow the truth we responded to when first we were appointed.
Those who claim a “higher knowledge” than what we first received Not only try to turn us aside, but they have themselves deceived. To say the Word of God is lacking and they have some new truth – Is not to be considered and is only useless words.
Reality follows the line of teaching contained in God’s own Word. The Holy Spirit convicts of sin, righteousness, judgment and teaches Christ is Lord. The anointing work of the Spirit has the power to regenerate – Repentance of sin to God leads to Christ in whom we put our faith.
The anointing we receive includes sealing by the Spirit. Now the Spirit Himself dwells continually within us. We are taught by the Holy Spirit when decisions we have to make – The anointing of the Holy Spirit leads us when guidance we will seek.
The capacity we’ve been given to appreciate all the Spirit has revealed – Lets us appropriate all God provides that previously was concealed. All through life’s many changes the Spirit leads and guides – We experience all this means when we in Christ abide.
I thank Thee, O God, for the work of the Holy Spirit from the time of first conviction to the guidance He is giving us today. How gracious He is to be with me in every detail of life. From time to time Linda and I go over the leading of the Spirit in so many ways in our life and we are so grateful for the daily work of God on our behalf. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.”
