1st John 2:5. “But whoso keepeth his word, in him is the love of God perfected: and hereby know we that we are in him.” KEEP HIS WORD. There really is no reason to not obey the Lord – His word is always truth – there is no doubt. The problem arises when lesser interests raise their heads – Promising some great benefit, we don’t know about.
Love for God is the secret of a life of consistency – That develops as in Christ we do mature. When the love of God is within, we live life abundantly – And our confidence in God becomes more sure.
Love is a motivation to serve God effectively – We don’t want to waste ourselves on what doesn’t count. Serving God helps our development into maturity – When in His strength we learn what life’s about.
The secret of all godliness is based on obeying God’s own Word The walk of faith leads me to live obediently. By His grace and power together, I can accomplish what I should – And the love of God is “perfected” in me assuredly.
“Father, may I never overlook or cease to apply myself to obey Thee and serve Thee with truth. May the love of God be maturing me to be Christ-like and my actions be with confidence and real faith. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.”
