1st John 5:9. “If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.” THE WITNESS OF GOD. Men can only see happenings with their eyes. And in spite of himself, a man may lie. When God gives witness there can be no question – What He testifies to gives us each a lesson That never should be overlooked by anyone – The Man Christ Jesus is God’s only unique Son.
He witnessed to His Person at Jesus’ public baptism. His voice was heard when He spoke from heaven. He identified the Lord before all of the watchers, As the well-beloved Son who pleased the heavenly Father. It was God’s intention that all men would believe On the One who came from heaven lost souls to save.
God spoke again, witnessing high on a mountain – Telling those who were there they should really listen To the Lord who spoke and to all He said – But much was forgotten till after He rose from the dead; Then they truly understood the One they personally followed – Was the Son of God as God Himself clearly testified.
God who sent the Son to earth to pay the cost In order that all mankind would not forever be lost – Identified the Son as the only One who could pay The redemptive price so all believers can confidently say “The Lord Jesus Christ came here to die for me” – As God said Himself, He gives us life abundantly.
“I thank Thee, O God, for the plain and irrefutable testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ being the eternal Son of God. I would like to be able to witness to that fact in a way those I speak to would believe. This is only possible as the power of God to give life is experienced by those who hear the Gospel. I pray this will happen in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.”
