Colossians 3:1. "If yet then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God."
RISEN WITH CHRIST. This doesn't happen a little bit at a time. New life comes from God, not from any efforts of mine. Self-denial and vain works are only actions of the flesh. God doesn't save because of them; He alone can bless Us with new life in Christ who died for our sins, He was buried and three days after He rose again. Now a new fact has clearly come to light; We are risen with Christ and now share in His life.
The evidence is there, the love of God is in our hearts. But sometimes we hardly know where and how to start To act right and do right that we might honor and please our Lord - It is necessary that we daily get guidance from His Word. His Word is one of those things that has come from above. The truths in the scriptures have been given to us with love. The Holy Spirit has come from above that in truth He will guide us; And faith through His Word will in testing times teach us to trust.
From above has come love for God and love for the brethren. Also has been given to us eternal life, and a home in heaven. There is hope that is sure, not based on vain speculation. We know God as our Father; we have eternal salvation. Grace has been given us that we might honor God every day. Heavenly peace is imparted by the Lord that will not pass away. Christ is our Mediator, as our Advocate before the throne. He makes us accepted in Him, and our life is His own.
"Father, I rejoice with Thee this morning in the Lord Jesus Christ. How assuring it is to know that all the Persons of the Godhead are involved in my life, and in that way my life and work is important to Thee. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen."
