Colossians 3:5. "Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:" KILL THEM! Who would have thought that one to whom Christ is life; Would have any problems with these. That is why we are enjoined to walk in the light, Lest those sins of the flesh on us seize - And drag us down, then turn us away From the Lord to the power of deceitful flesh. There is really only one tried and proven way - That is to put each one to death.
Not one in this list has a place in the life, Or in the body of one who believes.
Some of them bring hatred followed by strife - Every one of them the Holy Spirit grieves. Some are within and some are without - Every one is accompanied by guilt. In this world all around us and about Are these sins which only by death can be dealt.
I must never allow my eyes or my mind To consider or dwell on these things. There is only one tactic that I can find, To deal with the consequences those things bring. It is death to the flesh; we are alive in Christ. Kill them! Before they kill me! One who has the Spirit and to whom Christ is my life, Has the power to mortify these enemies.
"Lord God, I thank Thee for giving the Holy Spirit to live in me. I thank Thee for the Savior who is my life. I thank Thee for being my Father and dealing with me as Thy son. Preserve Thy servant I pray Thee, from all of these fleshly evils that war against the soul
