Colossians 3:6

THE WRATH OF GOD

Colossians 3:6. "For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:"

THE WRATH OF GOD. God's wrath is not something peevish, unwarranted or unfair. It is a righteous act of justice that the disobedient have to hear. It abides upon the unbeliever who puts faith in Christ aside. Those who believe on the Son have life; on those who don't, the wrath of God abides,

This wrath is righteous, like that of the law, on those who ignore its precepts. There isn't a lot of complicated verbiage to cover fundamental concepts. To disobey means you will be lost; to obey means you are accepted - Not because of works you have done, but because in Christ you have personally trusted.

There will be a final and future punishment for those who disobey. This is a day of saving grace; there is coming a judgment day. Not to determine if one is saved or not, but to reveal the results of sin. To disobey God and reject the Savior now, will be openly exposed by Him.

Children of disobedience are like children who choose to ignore The instruction and guidance of parents who have gone long before And learned what is right and seek to show their children just how to live. But they can't control the inner will of a child who refuses the advice they give.

In the future, as now in life, there is coming a day when disobedience is exposed. Those who in their lives disobeyed, will find heaven's door forever closed. So, if you are tempted now to ignore, to disobey and reject God - Remember you were warned repeatedly; it is written in God's Word.

"Father in heaven, I know a lot of my thoughts are simplistic and child-like, but I am aware of the serious consequences of disobedience. I pray that it might daily be impressed on my soul, the need of child-like obedience to Thee, my gracious and all-wise Father. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen."
