Proverbs 20:24. “Man’s goings are of the Lord; how can a man then understand his own way?”
A MAN’S STEPS. We sat around a table just two nights ago Some were old friends, others we just came to know. Talking together we had a wonderful time – Our accents were different but our faces did shine With interest in others comments and families too Our lives were blended because each of us knew – Our steps were ordered of the Lord.
It didn’t take long for us to understand Our common ground wasn’t planned by man. From far and distant parts of the world we came Gathered by God unto the Lord Jesus’ name – Not understanding on the day we had left to come God would bring us together in that very home – Our steps were ordered of the Lord.
A lot of times people may not understand Why we meet in special places across the land In Jesus’ name we gather and find others there Who love for Christ and the Gospel we all share – But then we consider this was not a mistake – Love for Christ is behind the choices we make – Our steps were ordered of the Lord.
By faith we live and it often brings changes, By faith we act when we learn what God’s will is, By faith we gather to offer our sacrifices, By faith we tell others what we know God’s truth is, By faith we trust God when we don’t understand, By faith we place ourselves under His guiding hand – Our steps are ordered of the Lord.
It brings a lot of joy when I meet new brothers And find my convictions are held by many others. Some have been led by God to leave family and friends, Others lifelong home is just around that near bend. When we are together there’s a commonality we have – We love the Lord Jesus and the truth to us He gave – Our steps are ordered of the Lord.
“O God who has guided the feet of millions in the past in Thy ways: guide me this day I pray in ways that will bring honor and glory to Thee. Keep me from making my plans without consideration of what Thy gracious will is. Order my goings this day in paths of righteousness for Thy own name’s sake. Amen.”
