Laws regarding Homicides. Exodus 21:20-21 The nation was to execute those who deliberately murdered others. Provision was made for a fair hearing and trial for all. Self-defense did not justify execution. There was also a provision to protect the home from a willful son who attacked his parents, considering that attack a capital crime. The same applied to someone who kidnapped another. Although slavery was extensive enough that one nation could be a slave to another, God addressed that issue as well.
